Since when did we become such sissies that food now has certain inalienable rights? Seriously people raise, catch, or kill food for society to eat. When that food arrives whether it be alive or dead our job as the top predator is to prepare that food in a tasty manner for all.
This twenty-one pound lobster caught up near Boston, being kept at some restaraunt with a kitschy name, should be auctioned off to someone who wants to eat lobster until it tastes bad. On a side note, if you eat too much lobster it begins to taste like soap. I don’t know why, but I do know that it gets nasty after a while, I guess it is a too much of a good thing kind of response from your body. Enough of that, back to the lobster. Could you imagine going in with your friends to buy an enormous lobster? SOOOOO TASTY!! Why is there such an outpouring of concern for what is essentially a giant water bug. I don’t see many concerned about the poor, the down-trodden, people, Americans who are hungry. So why?
Why does this lobster has to go back into the wild? Why? He has lived his life, why must smaller lobsters be eaten in quantity? If you were a real bleeding heart you could release twenty-one, one pound lobsters into the wild and I bet they would produce more delicious lobster offspring for us to consume than the big ‘ol lobsta.
Steam that bad boy red and serve him with some butter. Do not release him back into the wild. Would you say, oh that poor gigantic cow, we shouldn’t eat it, we should release it back onto the farm, it has just lived such a good life and should continue to live that life in peace. No, food doesn’t understand these concepts. Food is food it is not self-aware, it does not know right from wrong. It only understands nature, red in tooth and claw. To the victors go the spoils and as the ultimate victors we can pretty much eat whatever we see, whenever we feel like it.
So boil that lobster, kill that cow, hell eat a raccoon if you feel like it, you’ve earned it by manipulating your way to the top of the food chain through ingenuity and trickery along with opposable thumbs.
