Did I mention in the title this is connected to the whole islam/muslim controversy that has been sweeping the globe for a while now. No? I guess the title bar wasn’t long enough for Hypocritical, self acclaimed liberal muslim journalist engages in censorship of speech she finds offensive in the name of freedom of expression and then freaks just a bit when the cops cart her away for vandalism saying “this is what happens to non-violent protesters in America.” Yeah that might have been too long, but it certainly would have summed up the text of the article and the are going to find below.
So there is this, journalist, correspondenty type woman, Mona Eltahaway, who has been a talking head on CNN, MSNBC, the NBC Nightly News, etc. She is a talking head more or less. Well, she up and shows in the New York City subway system with a can of pink spray paint. Her mission, to cover up an anti-jihad poster in the subway. So she starts going at it, some camera man, staged or not I don’t know, there to film her. Well it seems that at least one person in the crowd had a problem with all of this censorship the woman was committing, combating what she called racism and hate.
First, I will tell you the billboard, sponsored by a pro-Israel group for supporting Israel said, “In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. -Support Israel, Defeat Jihad” Wow, those are some damnable hateful words aren’t they. I am almost in shock with how divisive and racist they are. Oh wait, those words are a quote from, from, oh a lecture by Ayn Rand, that’s right. So now Ayn Rand of course as a capitalist is a racist monster, as is anyone that wants to defeat Jihad. Because as we all know Jihad is a good thing here in America.
It is almost laughably funny the daily kos referred to the ads as islamophobia. Two things wrong with this. One, it wasn’t a slam on islam, it was a rallying cry against those who would kill innocents and martyr their own young to fight an ideological war with infidels for the purpose of spreading their own ideology to homogeny; and two, there is no such thing as islamophobia. I have no fear of islam, I do have a hatred of terrorism and the acts of terror committed in the name of islam. Just as I would have a hatred of acts of terror committed in the name of Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism (a laugher there), or any other religion, or none at all. The fact that terror is largely a construct of islam at this point is just unfortunate for islam. People tend to dismiss you and your ideology when they only see you rioting, stealing, killings, and destroying the lives of others. We’re not into that here in America.
Back to this Mona individual. So here she is, hatefully spray painting away. When another woman got in the way and attempted to stop her by intervening between the paint can and the sign. She mocks the woman telling her to “defend racism.” Man, has Mona got this all wrong. The woman is defending the freedom of speech and wants to know what right this Eltahaway woman has to violate the freedom of speech, and yes, even hate speech or wrong speech, or bad speech is protected by the first amendment, so that is not a valid argument.
Finally the cops show up and guess who they arrest. That’s right Mona Eltahaway, Well, she freaks and wants to know what she did wrong, she was non-violently protesting by defacing public property. Oh, and she spray painted a woman. When the policeman says that, she retorts, “She got in my way.” As if to explain that this woman had no rights whatsoever, she told her to move and she wouldn’t so painting her was the only option of course. What idiocy out of some moron talking head.
You can’t push your way around people, tell them to eff off, get paint on them, and then claim to be non-violently protesting when someone confronts your attempt to censor speech. Here’s hoping she also gets charged with resisting for trying to pull away from the officer in the video as well.
America isn’t a one opinion country, even though libtards and conservaholes would have you believe their speech should be the only speech. There is room for dissenting views, even if you don’t like them. I see plenty of speech I don’t agree with and would happily tear down, however I don’t because I am a civilized human being who can engage in civilized discourse and make my point without resulting to name calling, violence, or censorship. I wish the same could be said for others.
