I may have been the last person to realize that today was the opening day for Iron Man 3. Yes folks despite the harsh winter-like weather and the snow the May blockbusters have arrived. The kids will be getting out of school in a few weeks or so and every single weekend for the next three months there will be at least one new movie out that will knock your socks off.
Hmm, the real question is do I brave the lines and take the family to see the Iron Man starring Robert Downy Jr, or do I wait a week or try to go in the middle of the week. It is always a conundrum. I like seeing the movie, but at the same time I don’t want to feel like a sardine trapped in the theater. What if they guy next to me sounds like hes munching his way through a box of styrofoam peanuts as we gobbles his popcorn. What will I do then? At the same time, its too new to be available for ummm, lets call it streaming on my laptop, and even so big screen vs. 13 inch screen, is it really even a comparison?
No, I will brave the lines, but not on opening day, maybe for the 11am showing on Sunday morning. Hehe, I may have just out thought everyone else and come up with the ultimate movie viewing plan for the rest of the summer season. Iron man 3, here we come, on Sunday, right after breakfast, while everyone else is still sitting in their bathrobes. I love it.
This strategy will work for Star Trek, I’d say it would work for Fast and Furious 6, but I could probably go prime time on opening night and not face a crowd for that flick. After Earth, The Purge, EPIC, Man of Steel, World War Z, the Lone Ranger; there are a lot of flicks coming to the big screen that I may need to see and I don’t want to have to suffer to do it. I also don’t want to pay $12 a ticket either but that may be neither here nor there when it comes down to it.
The rest of you enjoy the opening night of Iron Man 3, I’ll see it Sunday morning and will still be able to gush over it at the water cooler on Monday with the rest of Nerddom kind.
